With only one game last week due to weather, the Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets boys basketball team faced a tall task with their only game last week and that was a trip to SWC leader Lancaster last Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The host Flying Arrows handed the visiting Hornets a 76-25 defeat. Senior Cooper Lomas led the Hornets in both scoring (11 points) and rebounding (12 rebounds).
Wrapping up the Hornets scoring totals for the game was senior Theo Millin (six points), senior Julius Cooley (four points) and sophomores Josh Martin and Bentley Dums (two points each). Wauzeka-Steuben dropped to 4-17 overall with the loss to Lancaster.
The game at La Farge/Youth Initiative that was originally scheduled for last Thursday, Feb. 20 was postponed due to weather to this past Monday, Feb. 23. The non-conference game at Belmont that was scheduled for the same night was cancelled. The Hornets end the week and the regular season at North Crawford this Thursday night.
The Hornets received the no. 15 seed in their sectional grouping and will travel to second seed Kickapoo on Tuesday, Mar. 3.
