The Elkader Opera House will welcome Paul Draper, a mentalist, comedian and speaker, for a show at 7 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 17. He is known for captivating audiences with a unique combination of magic, mentalism and anthropology.
Through his method of blending entertainment with education, Draper has developed productions fit for the stage, screen, classroom and office. He has performed around the world, headlining top venues in Hollywood, Las Vegas and London. His work has also appeared on networks including TNT, History, A&E, HBO, Discovery and HGTV.
“He’s been a lot of different places and at different venues. He has impressive credentials,” said Elkader Opera House Manager Kay Moser, who was drawn to Draper because the facility has never had a magician perform.
Draper has additionally lectured at Yale University, the University of Cambridge, Tulane University and the University of Southern California. Companies like Meta, Bentley, Oracle, Adobe and Warner Brothers have sought out his expertise through presentations on leadership, mindfulness and communication.
His Elkader performance will feature storytelling, comedy and magic. The show promises an unforgettable, immersive experience that will make guests laugh, gasp and question what they see.
“It will be fun and family friendly and something out of the ordinary,” Moser said. “We’re hoping that will entice some people to attend.”
FreedomBank is the sponsor of the show. In addition to his performance at the Elkader Opera House, Draper will also present a team-building keynote for FreedomBank staff.
Tickets and additional information are available at www.elkaderoperahouse.com.
